Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Election Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said the Commission has received multiple complaints regarding the presence of uniformed nurses at a meeting with Dissanayake.
“Although this matter is not directly related to us, we have sought a report due to a range of complaints we have received,” he added.
Meanwhile, sources familiar with the matter indicated that the Secretary to the Ministry of Health had granted duty leave for nurses to attend the National All Ceylon Nurses’ Conference.
