GCE (O/L) 2025 exams scheduled early in the year: Minister

Colombo, July 24 (Daily Mirror) - While releasing the recent General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O/L) examination results by September, the Examinations Department has announced that the 2025 O/L examinations are scheduled for the first two months of the year, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

While participating in the textbook distribution programme at the Pitipana warehouse, he mentioned that the Advanced Level (A/L) and other examinations are planned to be held earlier. Addressing the media, he said a decision has been made to update the examination timetable.

Additionally, the charges for evaluating answer scripts for the O/L, A/L, and Grade Five scholarship exams have been increased. The Minister noted that studies for the A/L classes, which began immediately after the recent GCE O/L examinations, are currently progressing successfully.
