The Sri Lankan Government also thanked the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government as the Minister-in-Charge for this opportunity.

"As a country located in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is showing successful progress in the field of merchant shipping and hence special security measures should be implemented for the ships that use the Indian Ocean region, for which Sri Lanka will take steps to submit a series of proposals to the conference," the Minister added.
