Colombo, October 9 (Daily Mirror) - The Government has appointed new Chairmen to head four major tourism bodies, following the resignation of their predecessors last week.
Buddhika Hewawasam, a seasoned professional in the aviation and travel industry, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).
Meanwhile, Dheera Hettiarachchi, a tourism management specialist and former Cluster Head for Travel and Tourism at the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM), has taken over as Chairman of both the SLITHM and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB).
