Government not involved in Veyangoda treasure excavation: Minister

Colombo, November 26 (Daily Mirror)-  The government was not involvement in the excavations for treasure near Wandurawa Rajamaha Vihara in Veyangoda, Cabinet spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told the weekly briefing to announce Cabinet decisions that the excavations have been carried out following an order by the Attanagalle Magistrate.

The excavation concluded without any discovery of treasure or items of archaeological value.
