The Health Ministry has supplied a total of 400 drugs which were in short supply to hospitals for the last few months, a top official said.
According to Additional Secretary Dr. Saman Rathnayake, these drugs had been procured under emergency purchases.
The official further clarified that there are about 77 drugs which are in shortage in hospitals while a total of 231 drugs are scarce in the Medical Supplies Division.
In light of this, steps are underway to procure these drugs as per the demand.
