Health strike put off amid talks with Finance Ministry officials

Colombo, Feb 06 (Daily Mirror) - In the wake of the constructive discussions held with the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, health sector trade unions have opted to defer their scheduled strike by one week, originally slated for February 7. 

Key stakeholders engaged in discussions, including representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, and healthcare professionals, have established a committee tasked with examining the proposals put forth by the trade unions.

As such, the committee will undertake deliberations to offer a comprehensive response to the concerns raised within the stipulated timeframe of one week.
