Colombo, July 03 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory indicating that several regions across the country will experience significant rainfall and strong winds in the coming days.
Accordingly, fairly heavy showers, exceeding 50mm, are likely in certain areas within the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Furthermore, showers will occur intermittently in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may also develop in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Meanwhile, the department warned that strong winds, ranging from 40-50 kmph are anticipated over the Western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-Central and North-Western Provinces. These winds will also affect the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
