Colombo, Jan 07 (Daily Mirror) - Former MP Hirunika Premachandra who questioned the genuineness of the Yukthiya operation alleged that raids to apprehend drug traffickers are not being conducted in selected areas.

"It is common knowledge that there are politicians who are engaged in drug trafficking. Some of them are operating in areas such as Dematagoda. A billboard has been erected by an underworld gang leader congratulating acting IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon. How can this be? Why are operations on recovering drugs not being launched in these areas?" she questioned.

"Deshabandu was in a vehicle at the back with others who shot my father Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra," Ms. Premachandra told the media.
