Informant of Easter Sunday suspects rewarded

Mohamed Razik Mohamed Taslim, who was shot in the head by Zahran Hashim’s group that was believed to be linked to the Easter Sunday suicide attacks, was offered Rs. 2.5 million in cash by Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekera for providing information to the Police over Easter Sunday suspects.

Taslim who was the coordinating secretary of former minister Kabir Hashim was the first person to reveal information on the suspects, who vandalized Buddhist statues in Mawanella area on  December 26, 2018.

On March 29, 2019, Taslim was shot in the head while he was asleep at his home in Danagama area, Mawanella.

He became disabled due to that shooting incident.(DSB)
