The present islandwide lockdown has been extended till September 13, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
Rambukwella said recommendations determined that progress will be made via the ongoing vaccination drive in the interim to curb the current spike. " Please adhere to the regulations, use this time to get vaccinated, stay home and wear a mask," the Minister said on his Twitter.
The decision was taken following a meeting held between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the COVID-19 Task Force held today morning. (JAMILA HUSAIN)
