Times Now News - US President Joe Biden has reportedly spent approximately 40 percent of his presidency away from the White House, according to a report from RNC Research, a Republican platform on Sunday. The report alleges that Biden has taken 532 vacation days during his less than four years in office.

Similar accusations were made by the Republicans last year too. However, the White House defended Biden’s time off, stating that he remains actively engaged in his presidential duties, even while on vacation.

RNC Research’s report claims that the 81-year-old President's time off is equivalent to 48 years' worth of vacation for the average American worker. To put this into context, the report compares Biden’s vacation days with a typical full-time American worker, who generally receives 10 to 14 days of paid vacation annually. Over a 40-year career, this amounts to roughly one year of vacation time, far below Biden's current tally.

Biden's frequent vacations include recent trips to Rehoboth Beach and his home in Southern California. On September 1, RNC Research tweeted a video showing Biden and First Lady Jill Biden relaxing on a beach. The tweet read, "Biden spent today — his 16th straight day on vacation — lounging on the beach. He has spent a total of 532 days (40.3 percent of his presidency) on vacation. Who's running the country?"

Since his inauguration in January 2021, Biden has often visited his homes in Delaware, taking extended breaks at various other locations. Last year, RNC Research published a similar report claiming that, as of August 2023, Biden had spent 382 days, or 40 per cent of his presidency, out of office.

However, a Washington Post report, citing White House pool data stated that in the first 853 days of his presidency, Biden had spent 256 days either on vacation or at one of his Delaware residences.

For comparison, the same Washington Post report pointed out that former President Donald Trump spent over 250 days on vacation in the first 853 days of his presidency.

Biden’s vacation time has become a topic of increasing scrutiny as his political career nears its end.

Following a disastrous debate with former President Trump, Biden called off his re-election campaign in July, raising questions about his fitness for office. Vice-President Kamala Harris has since been nominated by the Democratic Party against Trump in the November election.

Biden announced that he will continue in office until January 2025, with several plans still in place to complete before the end of his term.
