Kaya Daluwatta delivered a memorable performance, securing ninth position with an overall score of 305 on the final day of the Singha Thai Junior Golf Tournament in Hua Hin, Thailand.
In the Boys’ segment, Reshan Algama stormed back to claim the 12th position on the fourth and final day of the event.
Meanwhile, Jevahn Sathasivam had a super last two days to end on the 20th overall.
In the team event, Reshan Algama and Kumar Dhanushan combined to secure sixth position in the Boys’ segment while Daluwatta and Sherine Balasuriya achieved a sixth-place finish at this 15-team event.
Daluwatta continued her dominance and never dropped out of the top 10 from day one. The title, however, was clinched by Michelle Wong (Hong Kong) in a dramatic playoff hole.
Balasuriya finished in 18th place with a score of 336 after some uneven golf on days two and three in this event, which included 20 competitors.
In the Boys’ Gold Division, for competitors aged 15-19, 15-year-old Algama stood out brilliantly in the final round of one over par which helped him secure 12th position on the leaderboard with a total score of 306.
The Gold Division crown went to Supinraj Thanatasorn (Philippines), who posted an impressive total score of 289.
Meanwhile, Sathsivam's best round of the tournament came on the final two days when he landed in 20th position with a total score of 318 with some top-class golf.
Kumar Danushan claimed the 18th spot with a score of 314. Jacob Norton wrapped up his performance with a total score of 346, securing 27th position out of the 30 Boys.
Thejas Rathis Kanth ended well when he landed in 11th position with a score of 338 while Kaya Johnpillai took 15th spot with a score of 343 in the other division for the Boys’. (Shamseer Jaleel)
