Kenyan President congratulates Sri Lanka’s new President

President of Kenya Dr. William Ruto has conveyed his congratulations to Sri Lanka's newly elected President, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, emphasising the enduring diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In a message to Sri Lanka’s newly elected President, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the President of Kenya extended his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the people of Kenya and himself. He highlighted that President Dissanayake’s election is a strong affirmation of the Sri Lankan people's confidence in his leadership.

The Kenyan President emphasised the longstanding and cordial relations between Kenya and Sri Lanka, built on mutual respect and trust since the establishment of diplomatic ties.

He expressed his commitment to strengthening these bonds, with a focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, climate change and sustainable development. Additionally, he voiced his support for ongoing collaboration within the framework of South-South cooperation to promote a fair and just multilateral system that addresses the unique needs of developing nations.
