Kiriella mulls impeachment motion against Appeal Court President

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror)- Members of Parliament from both sides should confer on bringing an impeachment motion against the president of the Appeal Court, Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella told Parliament today. 

"We don't find fault with all judicial officers. More than 99 percent of judicial officers are honest. There are a handful of errant judicial officers. Action should be taken against them," Kiriella said.

"The concept of judicial notice should be applied when dealing with SLC. There are facts that the judiciary should take notice of. Corruption in SLC is something which the judiciary should take note of, " he added.
