Man falls from Maradana station roof

Colombo, Dec.5 (Daily Mirror) - A person was hospitalized after falling from the roof of the Maradana Railway station this morning, the Railways Department said.

Officials claimed that the person had climbed onto the roof connecting platforms 5 and 6 to engage in some kind of protest.

Efforts by the Maradana police to make the person climb down failed, but at 11.20 a.m., the person had fallen while he was walking on the roof.

Later, he was rushed to the National Hospital in Colombo for further treatment. 

Maradana Police and the Railway Police are conducting investigations.
