Medical unit at PM’s office returned to Ministry of Health

Colombo, November 06 (Daily Mirror)-  The medical unit established at the Prime Minister's office has been withdrawn and its staff and other equipment has been returned to the Health Ministry.

Prime Minister's Secretary Pradeep Saputhantri handed over the documents and keys related to the return of medical officers, other staff, equipment and two ambulances to Health Secretary Dr. Palitha Maheepala.

The medical unit was withdrawn as per the government's policy decision to curtail unnecessary expenses and for these human and other resources to be utilised for public use, the Prime Minister's office said.
