The government is expecting to present a vote on account instead of a budget in December this year, Cabinet Spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath said yesterday.
He told the weekly Cabinet briefing that the government will not have sufficient time to present the budget for year 2025 as the parliament convenes on November 21 after the general election.
The Minister said a vote on account will be presented for three months and added that the budget will be presented thereafter.
The Minister said this while responding to a question whether the budget would be presented in December for 2025.
