Namal Karunaratne of the National People’s Power (NPP) secured the highest number of preferential votes in the Kurunegala District, with a total of 356,969 votes. NPP’s Ananda Wijeyapala and Sujeeva Dissanayake followed in second and third places respectively.
For the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Nalin Bandara topped the preferential votes in the district, while Dayasiri Jayasekara and J.C. Alawathuwala also secured seats for the party.
