Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) parliamentarian Namal Rajapakse has been appointed as the chairman of the ‘National Council Sub-Committee for Identifying Priorities in Formulating Short, Medium and Long Term Policies’ recommended by the SLPP.
His nomination to this legislative council as the chairman has been proposed by the General Secretary of the party, parliamentarian, Sagara Kariyawasam and seconded by MP, Ali Sabri Raheem.
The members of the sub-committee have presented their opinions and suggestions on the formulation of state policies. The members agreed to call the experts in the relevant fields before the sub- committee to get ideas and proposals related to modernization of the public administration, health and education policies, fisheries and food policies, power and energy sector policies, and the modernization of the climate change policies.
According to the comments and suggestions, the sub-committee has agreed to submit short-term proposals within one-month, medium-term proposals within two months and long-term proposals within three months.
Minister Nazeer Ahmed and MPs, Pavitradevi Vanniarachchi, Sagara Kariyawasam, Vajira Abeywardena, Asanka Navaratne, Mano Ganesan, Ali Sabri Rahim, Johnston Fernando, A. L. M. Ataullah and Chief of Staff and Deputy Secretary General of the Parliament Mrs. Kushani Rohanadheera were present at the meeting.
