Neville Fernando Hospital to cater to health tourism

Colombo, November 30 (Daily Mirror)- The government is planning to develop Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital (NFTH) under a new model targeting health tourism, the Health Ministry said.

The matter was discussed during a meeting with Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa at the Heath Ministry recently.

It was decided to take over the NFTH under the purview of the Health Ministry and assign all staff including the specialist doctors.

A committee headed by the Director General of Health Services was appointed with the instructions of the Minister with regard to the future development activities of the Hospital.

The committee is expected to submit a set of proposals on the development of the NFTH before the end of December 2024.
