The Meegahakiula Pradeshiya Sabha imposed a temporary ban on tourists spending the night in tents at Mini World's End in Madulsima.

Meegahakiula Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Lalith Jayawardena said the decision was taken after a 34-year-old man reported missing during an excursion to the Mini World's End in Madulsima, due to the insecure nature of the area.

He said local and foreign tourists often come to the Mini World's End to spend the night in tents and there were several accidents have been reported in the past and also the temporary camping causes environmental damage.

The Pradeshiya Sabha has imposed a temporary ban on tourists spending nights in tents until appropriate facilities are made for tourists. It was decided to install booths made of glass panels to view the nature's beauty and erect a safety fence at the location. (Lunugala Prasanna Pathmasiri)
