Office for National Unity and Reconciliation Bill passed

Parliament, Jan. 09 (Daily Mirror)- The Office for National Unity and Reconciliation Bill which was debated in Parliament today was passed in Parliament by a majority of 41 votes.

A vote was taken for the Bill after Ahila Ilankai Thamil Congress (AITC) MP G. G. Ponnambalam called for a division.

Accordingly, 48 MPs voted in favor of the Bill while 7 MPs voted against it.

Amendments were added to the Bill during the Committee Stage and the Bill was passed with amendments.

Meanwhile, the National Hydrographic Bill, which was debated today, was also passed with amendments, without a vote.
