Immigration officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake apprehended Sanjeewa Kumara alias 'Ganemulla Sanjeeva', a notorious leader of an organized crime gang, this evening.
Sanjeeva was apprehended upon his arrival at the Katunayake Airport via SriLankan Airlines flight UL-182 from Kathmandu, Nepal, at 5:46 p.m.
Using a forged passport to enter the country, Sanjeeva's presence raised suspicion among immigration officials, leading to his subsequent arrest. Currently, immigration authorities are in the process of recording statements from him. (T.K.G.Kapila)
