Colombo, July 13 (Daily Mirror) - An urgent plan has been prepared to clear over 5,000 containers stuck due to the Customs strike and will be released by this weekend, Finance State Minister Ranjith Siambalapitiya said.

He said this congestion is expected to be reduced by next Monday. He also noted that trade union action is common when an election is near and that most trade unions are connected to political parties.

Minister Siambalapitiya made these remarks while attending the resumption of the indoor stadium construction at  Rajasinghe College, Ruwanwella

He said trade unions should prioritise their profession, institution and the current national situation when making decisions.

The Minister added that strikes should be the last resort for trade unions but not the first action.
