Colombo, November 26 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 55,416 persons from 15,670 families have been affected across ten districts due to natural disasters such as flash floods, strong winds and falling trees, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reported.
According to the DMC's situation report, 1,696 persons from 526 families have been affected by the inclement weather.
Twenty persons have been moved to safe locations, while 1,141 are staying with their relatives. A total of 80 houses were partially damaged, and one house was completely destroyed.
No deaths, injuries or missing persons have been reported so far.
The highest rainfall, 149.5 mm, was recorded in the Lahugala area of the Ampara district, while the lowest rainfall, 77.5 mm, was recorded in the Kilinochchi district.
