Public Health Inspectors Union President Upul Rohana said that around six public health inspectors working at the airport have tested positive for COVID19.

He said foreigners don’t wear masks or adhere to health guidelines and therefore more PHIs are at risk of contracting the virus.

"We have informed the Public Health Inspector Union deputy director general about the lack of space in restrooms at the airport. If proper facilities are not provided we will take a decision on whether or not to continue our duties at the airport," Rohana said.
