Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating corruption in the current administration at 9.30 am on Monday (16).

Earlier the Commission had asked him to appear today. However, the Prime Minister issuing a statement informed the Commission about his inability to appear today, as he would be attending an event in Mannar, however, said he could show up on Monday.

He would be questioned on the Cabinet decision to approve DPJ building to lease out to accommodate the Agriculture Ministry and over the lease agreement signed between the Ministry and DPJ at a total cost of Rs.1.3 billion.

Appearing before the Commission on Tuesday, former Minister of Agriculture, Duminda Dissanayake said it was not fair for the PCoI to question him on the controversial lease agreement as all decisions on the transaction had been taken by the Prime Minister. (Yoshitha Perera)
