The group-stage round of Lanka Premier League 2024 is halfway-through. Jaffna Kings led by Charith Asalanka are top of the table with 6 points in 4 games, while Wanindu Hasaranga-led Kandy Falcons are last with just 2 points in four matches.

On July 9, the table toppers took on the last placed team as Jaffna Kings locked horns against Kandy Falcons at the Dambulla Stadium.

It was a Pathum Nissanka show, as the 26-year-old, opening the innings for Jaffna Kings, scored a scintellating century.

Jaffna Kings, batting first, put 224/7 runs on the board. Nissanka scored 119 (59), which featured 16 fours and four sixes.

Nissanka shatttered several records with his innings, but most importantly, he smashed the highest individual score in Lanka Premier League.

He went past Laurie Evans, who held this record for his 108* (65) in 2020 edition. Here is the list of highest indiviudal score in Lanka Premier League.

It is worth noting that Nissanka was not picked in the first LPL auction's first round in May.
