Parliament, December 05 (Daily Mirror)- People, industrialists and entrepreneurs have volunteered to pay taxes where there was a long queue on September 31 to pay taxes while the online App of the Inland Revenue Department is congested with so many people trying to log in to pay taxes, Minister Sunil Handunnetti said today.

He told Parliament that tax payers have offered to pay taxes willingly because they have approved the progamme of the government and that it is a great strength.

The Minister said some industrialist had personally requested him to take steps to open dedicated counters in banks to pay taxes from September 15 to 30.

He said industrialists were not reluctant to pay taxes but the issue was that they were not confident of what would happen to their tax money..
