Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge said that the necessary fuel requirements have been fulfilled and that they are planning to provide an uninterrupted power supply.
"We have received 10,000 MTs of diesel and it has been supplied to the Kelani Tissa power plant. So far there have been no breakdowns except for one or two turbines which have been fixed immediately," Lokuge said.
There’s furnace oil sufficient till January 22. The CEB has requested the Ministry to provide furnace oil in February. A supply of diesel is also being provided. Once the Norochcholai power plant resumes operations from January 22nd we hope that there won’t be any power outages, Lokuge added.
