Colombo, Sep 1 (Daily Mirror) - Police recovered a stock of high explosives and a live hand grenade following the interrogation of an underworld gang member recently brought to Sri Lanka.
The explosives were found buried behind a house in Agalawatta during the questioning of a close associate of underworld figure 'Mathugama Shan Arosh.'
The recovered items include a foreign-manufactured live grenade and 310 grams of C4 high explosive powder.
The Matugama Magistrate's Court had previously issued several warrants against the suspect for attempted murder, kidnapping and possession of drugs.
The suspect was brought back to the country from Dubai last week.
