The police urge anyone with evidence or knowledge of any leaked questions from the Grade 5 scholarship exam, beyond the three already reported, to come forward by October 7, 2024.

Complaints can be submitted at the offices of Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) in divisions across the island, or at the nearest police station. Information will be recorded by the Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit and forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further inquiry.

Police have confirmed that evidence, including documents, can be presented to support such complaints. They assure the public that all reports will be thoroughly investigated into, with instructions for prompt action already issued to the CID. Police said that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the alleged leak of questions from the Grade 5 scholarship examination held on September 15, 2024.

A complaint was filed by a Deputy Commissioner of the Examinations Department on September 19, leading to the CID investigations. A 58-year-old official from the National Institute of Education, part of the exam question committee, was arrested on September 22. A 49-year-old teacher from Alawwa was also arrested on September 24.

The first suspect had allegedly shared seven questions with the teacher, three of which appeared in both the exam and a model paper circulated on social media. Currently, investigations have revealed that only three questions were leaked.

Both suspects have been remanded till October 7, as the CID continues its investigations. Authorities encourage the public to report any additional evidence of leaked questions to local police by the specified date.
