Polls-related complaints cross 4,500; 31 incidents of violence

Colombo, September 18 (Daily Mirror) -  A total of 156 fresh complaints related to the upcoming presidential election were received, taking the total number of complaints to over 4,500.

According to the Election Commission, a total 4,731 cases have been reported during the period from July 31 to September 17.

Of the total complaints, the National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 1438, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 3299.

All complaints were categorised as breaches of laws, with 31 incidents of violence being reported.
