President condemns assassination of Hamas leader

Colombo, July 31 (Daily Mirror) - President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed his strong condemnation of the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh. 

He said this at a recent meeting with former Provincial Council members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and the United National Party (UNP).

Addressing the gathering, President Wickremesinghe stated unequivocally that he will never condone such actions. 

He emphasized the importance of respecting international law and the sovereignty of nations, calling for a peaceful resolution to conflicts.
