President holds meeting with Ugandan counterpart

Uganda, Jan. 21 (Daily Mirror)- President Ranil Wickremesinghe engaged in a formal meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni yesterday afternoon (20), the President's Media Division (PMD) said.

President Museveni warmly welcomed  President Wickremesinghe, and following a friendly exchange, bilateral discussions commenced, the PMD said.

During the meeting, President Yoweri Museveni lauded President Wickremesinghe's significant role in revitalizing Sri Lanka's economy. 

President Museveni commended the nation for its achievements in this regard.

"The leaders delved into discussions about Sri Lanka's new economic programme, with President Ranil Wickremesinghe highlighting the positive economic trajectory since entering into an agreement with the International Monetary Fund. He emphasized on the anticipated growth in 2024," the PMD said.
