President Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided to appoint a committee, chaired by a retired Supreme Court judge, to investigate the allegations made by the UK's Channel 4 regarding the Easter Sunday bombings.

The President's Media Division said that the government plans to establish a Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate the allegations made by a former Attorney General, who claims that there is a mastermind behind the Easter attack.

President Wickremesinghe has emphasized that once the two investigations into the Easter attacks are concluded, the reports from the Parliamentary Select Committee and the Presidential Commission on the Easter bomb attack will be presented to parliament before any final decisions are made.
