Public protests continued in Sri Lanka on Saturday evening with an increasing number of people lining up on the roads holding candles in Kelaniya, Kohuwala and Mount Lavinia against the ongoing economic hardships.

Several people lined up outside the Kelaniya Rajamaha Vihara, and on the streets of Kohuwala and Mount Lavinia against the government's failures and urging an immediate solution to the present crises.

Protestors held placards calling on the government to go home if they are unable to govern the country alleging that the power, fuel, Forex and economic issues had stemmed from severe mismanagement.

The groups who had participated in protests were not affiliated to any political groups and urged all politicians to stop playing with the lives of the citizens.
