Colombo, August 21 (Daily Mirror) - UNP Leader and Independent candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe's rallies will include a multi coloured backdrop on stage during the campaign season as these colours represent all the parties that are supporting him in the upcoming Presidential Election, the Daily Mirror learns.
The eye-catching backdrop on the stage at Wickremesinghe's maiden rally in Anuradhapura on Aug.17 was put up on the request of all his supporting party members, who requested for all their party colours to be included.
This includes the Ceylon Workers Congress, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and the ACMC. Although some of these parties are split in their decisions to support Wickremesinghe, the party colours were included to show at least their parties partial support.
Wickremesinghe kicked off his maiden rally on Aug.17 from Anuradhapura and will conclude 100 rallies in total before the September 21 Presidential elections.
The Daily Mirror learns that in all his rallies the multi-colored backdrop will be put up on stage to show the unity, support and backing he has received from the political parties at the September 21 Presidential Elections.
