Colombo, September 24 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said today that they are ready for the next general election.
The decision was announced following a lengthy discussion at Nelum Mawatha on how to face the next general election.
There were further discussions on whether those who left the party during the last Presidential election will be welcomed back into the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, the SLPP said.
It has also been decided not to take back to the party any persons who have allegations of corruption against them.
Many defectors have requested to rejoin the party.
