Repeated reminders from Education Ministry over extreme heat

Colombo, March 13 (Daily Mirror) - Letters have been sent to all Provincial Education Directors, recalling the recommendations on how schools should act during the current high temperatures.

The letters were sent by Education Ministry Secretary Wasana Perera after considering the sudden death of the 16-year-old schoolboy in Ampara while participating in a marathon race.

The Secretary mentioned in her letters that some schools had ignored the recommendations issued by the Ministry.

The letter has given instructions on how to plan the daily activities and outdoor activities of all schools and pirivenas based on the high temperatures prevailing these days.
