The Narahenpita Police informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate today that they had launched an investigation in connection with a fraudulent online transaction of nearly 400 US dollars from former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's son Rohitha Rajapaksa's credit card.
The police informed Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasena that someone had made four online transactions amounting to 387 US dollars from Rohitha's credit card.
They said Rohitha Rajapaksa had lodged a complaint with the Narahenpita Police that he had lost his credit card on March 3 while he was on his way to a Matara house from a house at No. 184, Duwa Road, Beddagana in Kotte.
The Police requested the court to issue an order to the head office manager of Sampath Bank to issue the relevant bank account reports.
