Russia's Aeroflot flight resumed services between Colombo and Moscow today following a recent legal row which resulted in the flight suspending operations to Sri Lanka.
The Aeroflot flight landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport, the Daily Mirror correspondent said.
Government officials, Minister of Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, and Tourism Authority officials were among those who were present to welcome the flight crew and passengers.
Aeroflot suspended its commercial flights to Colombo after Sri Lankan authorities detained its Airbus A330 jet on June 4 over a commercial dispute with an Irish company.
The Russian House said the relationship between Sri Lanka and Russia will be further strengthened by the resumption of flights.
