SJB candidate Rehan Jayawickreme vows to refuse perks if elected

Colombo, October 15 (Daily Mirror) -  Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) candidate for Matara District, Rehan Jayawickreme, has vowed to refuse the usual perks given to MPs if he wins a seat in parliament. 

During meetings in Morawaka and Deniyaya, Jayawickreme
 told his team that he would not accept the pension or vehicle permit offered to elected officials, and emphasized the need for fresh faces in politics. 

“I believe in serving the people without taking personal benefits,” he said in an X post.
