SLTB launches special bus services for Christmas travel

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has initiated special and additional bus services to cater to commuters travelling during the Christmas festive season, SLTB Supervisory Officer Indika Chandimal said.

He informed the media that special and additional bus services are operational today and tomorrow from the Colombo Central Bus Stand to facilitate travel to villages.

Buses will cover all long-distance destinations from the Central Bus Stand and the Makumbura Multimodal Centre in Kottawa.

Adequate bus services are operational from the Makumbura Multimodal Centre for the convenience of those travelling to the Southern Province.

The buses are scheduled to operate both during the day and night.

A fleet of 500 additional buses has been deployed to transport people to Colombo from depots outside the city.
