Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Director General Dhammika Wijayasinghe yesterday announced that she would be stepping down from her role at the entity.
“We have gone through turbulent times within the past two and a half years and survived. The challenges brought us all together,” she said.
According to sources, Wijayasinghe is transferred to take up a new role under a different ministry.
Meanwhile, former SLTDA Chairperson Kimarli Fernando in a social media post commenting on the development said, “A corrupted system lost a competent and honest public servant from the tourism industry.”
“A dark day for Sri Lanka Tourism,” Fernando added.
