Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa has decided to resign from his post with effect from Saturday(10).
A senior official of his office told the Daily Mirror that the governor had sent his resignation to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Governor Kobbekaduwa had been functioning in his post with effect from September 21, 2019. He had functioned as the Governor of the Central Province from December 16, 2005 to January 19, 2015 before he was appointed as Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province. (Shane Seneviratne)
