UNP Dy. Leader Sajith Premadasa is expected to be nominated to the post of Opposition Leader in the Parliament of Sri Lanka as per the understanding arrived at discussions held today.
MP Mano Ganesan told Daily Mirror that a decision had arrived at a discussion between UNF leaders and UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and later at the discussion held between Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, and UNP Leader and the Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa.
Accordingly, the final decision would be made by the UNF parliamentary group next week.
