A seven-year-old school girl, who was trapped between two walls of a Kalutara school, was rescued safely by the Kalutara Municipal Council’s fire department officers yesterday.
Kalutara Police said that the girl, studying in the second year at Kalutara Katukurunda Roman Catholic School was trapped between the two walls for about 30 minutes.
The chief fire officer P. Lakshan said that the girl was rescued after pushing the two walls using a sophisticated device. An ambulance of the municipal council was also present to transport the child to hospital. The child was rescued unharmed, he said.
