Two special cargo aircraft of the Indian Air Force landed at the Katunayake Airport this morning carrying the Indian made nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer procured by Sri Lanka, airport duty manager said.
The first aircraft belonging to the Indian Air Force arrived at the Katunayake Airport at 12.06 midnight with 44,730 kg of nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer.
While the second one with 44,773 kg of similar cargo, touched down at the Airport at 3.02 am.
Both aircraft are the largest C-17 cargo freigters of the Indian Air Force.
The liquid fertilizer was transported by trucks to the Central Warehousing Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture, Colombo. (T.K.G. Kapila)
